Registration - Youth Boys
Welcome to the excitement of the Kimberly Youth Lacrosse Spring Season! Our spring program is a thrilling opportunity for young athletes to embrace the fast-paced and dynamic sport of lacrosse while enjoying the beauty of the spring season. KALA is a completely self-funded organization that is solely ran by volunteers, and all expenses are paid for through player fees and fundraising.
Join us for an incredible journey of skill development, teamwork, and fun during the Kimberly Youth Lacrosse Spring Season. As the flowers bloom and the weather warms, let's embrace the spirit of lacrosse and make this spring season one to remember!
NEW!!!
PLEASE READ!
This season, KALA is introducing a new registration process to make things easier for families and for the club to track participants. We will not be collecting fees at the time of registration. Instead, you’ll simply register your player to reserve their spot on a team this season.
Then, approximately one month before the season begins, parents will receive an email containing an "offer" for their player. To complete the registration process, parents must "accept" the offer and choose either to pay the full registration fee upfront or select an installment plan. Once a payment option is confirmed, players will be officially rostered onto a team, and parents will be able to access team details and updates through the Crossbar app.
Ages/Teams
These age divisions help ensure that players are grouped with others of similar size and skill levels, providing a developmentally appropriate and safe environment for learning and playing lacrosse.
- U8 (Under 8): 9/1/2017 to 8/31/2020
- U10 (Under 10): 9/1/2015 to 8/31/2017
- U12 (Under 12): 9/1/2013 to 8/31/2015
- U14 (Under 14): 9/1/2011 to 8/31/2013
REGISTRATION COSTS
Collectively, KALA board members made the decision to not increase registration prices this year even though the cost of association fees, field costs, and referee fees have all increased and impacted our budget. We are committed to making this sport as affordable as possible for all families in hopes we can continue to grow our small club into what other larger ones are.
We are again having raffle tickets included in registration costs and are offering two payment options - Paid in full and 2 Pay Installments. Installment options will be removed for any registrations received after February 28th.
- U8: $90 + $150 (required raffle tickets) = $240
- U10: $265 + $150 (required raffle tickets) = $415
- U12: $265 + $150 (required raffle tickets) = $415
- U14: $265 + $150 (required raffle tickets) = $415
**Please note that there will be additional transaction fees applied at checkout by Crossbar for credit card payments. You have the option to pay via ACH to avoid the credit card fee. This will be shown in your total charge before you complete the checkout. KALA also reserves the right to charge a $30 late for for any returned payment after 30 days.
ADDITIONAL/OPTIONAL COSTS
ADDITIONAL COSTS - Needed Prior to Registration:
- USA Lacrosse Membership (Required): $35 - purchased directly through usalacrosse.com and will be required to enter at the time of registering. The USA Lacrosse membership is required for all players and coaches. The membership also serves as your injury insurance during the playing season.
- Beginning July 1, 2025 all USA Lacrosse player members will be required to complete the one-time age verification process to maintain active membership status. Failure to comply will result in your players membership suspended.
OPTIONAL OPTIONS:
- Equipment: Equipment for players can generally cost anywhere between $325-$500 for helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, stick, groin protection, and cleats. To assist families who may not want to make that kind of financial commitment, we do have the following rental equipment options available.
- Rental Option 1:
$100 - Helmet + Stick + Shoulder/Chest Pads + Elbow Pads + Gloves
- Rental Option 2:
$35 - Helmet
$35 - Stick
$35 - Shoulder/Chest Pads + Elbow Pads + Gloves
$50 - Helmet & Stick
$50 - Helmet & Pads
A few great online resources to purchase new/used equipment are sidelineswap.com & lacrossemonkey.com. If you have questions on equipment please email us and we can help answer those.
SEASON COMMITMENT
At KALA, we strongly support multi-sport athletes and believe diverse athletic experiences help players grow both on and off the field. However, we ask families to thoughtfully consider their child’s availability before registering for lacrosse—especially if they’re committed to spring hockey or other sports during our regular season. A successful team experience depends on consistent attendance and shared commitment. When players miss practices or games, it impacts not only their development but also the time and effort invested by coaches and teammates. Please keep this in mind as you decide whether lacrosse fits into your athlete’s spring schedule.

When
PRACTICES:
- Post season practices (in March) are held on Saturday at Players Choice.
- Regular Season practices are 2x a week after school. These vary in time/location depending availability of coaches and facilities.
- Weather is our worst enemy. While we try to plan according ahead of any potential not favorable weather, some practices may change at the last minute.
REGULAR SEASON:
- Our lacrosse season starts in April and finishes with a mandatory conference tournament the last weekend of May (2026).
GAMES:
- Game days are on Sundays. Teams will play up to 3 games starting at 8:00 AM until around 4:00 PM.
UNIFORMS
Jersey, pinnies and shorts are provided by the program and cost covered by a rental fee as part of the player’s registration. Uniform rental is also another way we keep registration costs down so new uniforms don't need to be purchased each year. Uniforms will then be assigned to players with no special accommodations made for numbers. Do not trade with teammates.
TRY ON:
- Players will have the option to try on uniforms at the parent meeting held on February 22nd at the High School.
PICK UP:
- This year, uniform (and equipment) pick up will be before first practice. Communication will go out when and where this will be held.
RETURNS:
- Uniforms are to be returned (washed) at the end of the season. If a uniform is not returned a $150 fee will be charged to the credit card or ACH account on file that was used at the time of registration.
VOLUNTEER HOURS
Each family is required to complete 3 volunteer hours. Opportunities will be provided during hosted tournaments, or by filling other responsibilities (i.e. parent coordinator or being in charge of team tent). Families with multiple players are only required to fulfill 3 hours total. However, hours are subject to change based on tournament locations and number of participants registered.
Due to scheduled shifts not being fulfilled in past seasons, this year we have implemented that families will be required to provide a $100.00 check at uniform/equipment pick up. Checks will then be returned back once you have completed your scheduled volunteer shift. Failure to show up for your shift or finding someone else to cover your shift will result in the check being cashed. Board members, coaches, parent coordinators, and team tent parents are exempt from this.
FUNDRAISER/RAFFLE TICKETS
As stated above, registration includes the 15 - $10 raffle tickets each player is required to sell. To keep our registration costs down, we are hoping that families will sell more than the required 15 to help keep KALA striving.
This year, the board has decided to only require $300 max raffle tickets sold per household. Anyone with more than 2 kids registered will need to email us at kimberlylacrosse@gmail.com to receive a discount code at the time of accepting registration.
Keep an eye out for optional fundraising opportunities throughout the season!!
FAQ
Please visit our 'RESOURCE' tab. There you will be be able to find the slides from our parent meeting and information on the game, equipment and more. If you don't find what you are looking for there you can email us at kimberlylacrosse@gmail.com. Following our Facebook page is another great way to stay up to date on all club details.
Can our son/daughter play for KALA if we don't go to a Kimberly School?
This program is for student-athletes who attend Kimberly Area School District public or private schools within the district boundaries. Our program will accept students who reside outside of the school district boundaries if your school does not offer a lacrosse program and Kimberly is the closest program available. Please reach out to us prior to registering to discuss with a program director if this applies to your child.
My son is older/younger for their grade and won't be on the same team as their friends, can they move up or down a level?
The teams are based off the players date of birth, which is regulated by BVLA and USA Lacrosse, and not based off of the grade they are in. At the time of registration, the system will automatically place your player into the team in which their date of birth falls into. Special accommodations may be made at the desecration of the youth director and/or coach based on players size and skill level. If you feel your player should be placed on a different team for either of those reason, please talk to your coach or a program director regarding your concerns.
